Warranty Information 

This warranty is against faulty workmanship and/or faulty materials commencing from the date of  delivery or pick up, and is not transferable and only covers the original purchaser. You must hold the  original store receipt (proof of purchase) to claim the warranty. 

This warranty covers the domestic use only. So if you are acquiring the goods for business purposes as  defined in sections 2 and 43 of the CGA 1993, you agree that the consumer guarantees provided for in  the CGA will not apply to the supply of those goods. 

We reserve the right to repair or replace any product that falls under the normal warranty conditions. We also reserve the right to refuse any warranty claim if under inspection the product failure is due to  cases other than defective workmanship or materials that fall outside the normal warranty conditions. 

Return to base warranty. NO FREE COLLECTION for the warranty claims, every customer HAS TO  RETURN the product by themselves back to New Moon Furniture. 

Warranty DOES NOT apply to products sold that have a defect ACKNOWLEDGED BY CUSTOMER prior to  purchase. 

Our warranty DOES NOT cover normal wear and tear, damage due to abuse or misuse, damage caused  during assembly, and modifications. More details please see below 

Sofa & Lounge Suite 

All sofas and lounge suites (excluding the NZ made brands) warranty is 1 year for frame. 

Foam,  upholstery materials are not covered under this warranty. 

This includes all timber and steel framing. If any defective materials are found or there is evidence of  poor workmanship and it affects the performance of the item then the supplier will repair or replace the  parts necessary to rectify the problem. 

NZ made brands

Madrid, Dallas, Los Angeles, Caspian – frame 10 years, foam 5 years, back cushion &  fabric 1 year Apollo, Boldmere, Montego, Mayon – frame 10 years, foam 5 years, back cushion & fabric 2 years Nora – 1 year for frame, foam, back cushion and fabric. 

Some flattening or loss of resiliency will occur as a result of normal use and aging. Foams will soften 10- 20% in the first six months of use. This is called "settling" and is a normal process of foam being used.  This is not covered under the warranty as it is not considered a defect. Cushion materials conform to the  shape of the user and are not considered to be a manufacturing defect. Proper maintenance, including  frequent seat cushion rotation, will promote even wear and longer life for your lounge suite. 

NZ made brands sofa and lounge suite upholstery fabrics warranty is against manufacturing defects such  as seam slippage, fraying and dye transfers. This warranty does not cover wearing, wrinkling, fading,  pilling or fabric that has been treated with consumer applied soil repellent. 

Mattress 

This warranty covers the coils/springs or wires that are loose or broken, and protrude or tear through  the fabric. 

This warranty does not cover the below 

Fabric (including stains, soiling, burns or pilling) 

Normal body indentations - a reasonable level of indentation/dipping (as a result  of body impressioning/contouring) on the mattress can measure up to 2 inches for the mattress with top  foam. The small body indentation sometimes can show up as soon as two or three nights of your sleeping on the mattress while the bigger dent happens over time. To help even out any body  indentations, turn the mattress end to end once every 2 weeks for the first 3 months, then once every 3  months after that. 

Comfort/ firmness preference - Please choose your mattress carefully. Once a mattress has been  opened, and or used, it cannot be returned and/or refunded. 

The firmness and mattress comfort will decrease gradually as it conforms to your body and is considered normal wear and tear. 

Handles (where fitted) – these should be used to position the mattress and are not designed to carry the  full weight of the mattress.

Border wires (which run along the perimeter of the mattress and foundation) which are bent due to  moving or bending the mattress. 

Mattress damage due to an unsuitable foundation - mattress is best supported by a base that provides a flat, stable surface, often achieved with a bed frame featuring solid slats or a solid platform base. This ensures even weight distribution, prevents sagging, and can improve the longevity of the mattress. Box springs bases and flexi slat beds are not recommended. 

New bed smell/odour 

Mattresses covered by our 1 year warranty are: 

S/M Econ, Lunar, Quasar, Atlanta, and Specific clearance Items.

Mattresses covered by our 5 year warranty are: 

Sleepmax range -  Pillow top, pocket spring pillow top, pocket spring euro top, pocket spring PRO, Posture Elite Medium,  firm 

Dreamnight Bamboo Firm range

Dreamland Zeds range - Omega Plush, Omega Medium, Newcastle, Titan, Aurora, Galaxy

Mattresses covered by our 10-year warranty are: 

Sleepmax range - Posture Elite Plush, Lux Gel, X-firm 

 

Platform Base 

NZ made base - 5 years warranty against faulty workmanship and/or faulty materials. Newton storage gas lift base – 1 year warranty against faulty workmanship and/or faulty materials. Birkenhead kitset base – 1 year warranty against faulty workmanship and/or faulty materials 

Upholstery Headboard 

1 year warranty covers defective material and poor workmanship. 


Wood & MDF Products 

1 year warranty covers defective material and poor workmanship. 

Timber products, being a natural material, are subject to change and movement. Normal wear and tear,  changes to the appearance of the item due to normal expansion and contraction of timber as it reacts to  climatic changes in its environment, improper care and damage from sunlight and excessive  temperatures are not circumstances covered under warranty. 

Natural variations in colour, knots, stress marks, are not considered defects of workmanship and  materials and therefore not covered under warranty.  

Furniture made from recycled wood may have insect markings and/or nail holes and is not considered a  warranty claim, but is considered a feature of these products.  

MDF furniture does not react well with moisture. Keep your MDF furniture in a dry room and wipe spills  up immediately.


Glass & Marble 

Glass components are under a 1 year warranty manufacturing defects. Small air bubbles, slight  scratching and subtle surface waviness can occur naturally and are not considered a defect. Marble Products are under a 1 year warranty manufacturing defects. 

The Marble pattern and tones may vary slightly from product to product with each piece having a  unique pattern. This is due to the natural raw material properties and is not considered a manufacturing  defect.
